alright here in massachusetts, those tree huggin hippies decided a few years ago that they needed to revamp the already instense inspection process that beats the bag out of any car more than 5 or so years old. my car is 14 years old and accidentally i let the inspection run out from the year before, so when i got the 30 dollars necessary to take the test i immediately took the next free day i had and went over with a wing and a prayer to hope i passed. i have had this car since May, and i have had my license a smidgen less than a year, so it would be safe to assume that i have never done this before. Directly after school i bombed over there and pulled in for the test. Almost immediately a "very unladylike" woman opened the garage door and gives me shit because i didnt pull into the line (THE GARAGE WAS ABANDONED save for the mechanics). i give her my keys, registration, and 29 dollars and she tells me to wait in the room adjacent to the garage.
swimming in old ripped magazines and stacks of stonemason literature  , i manage to keep my eyes awake when i see out of the corner of my eye that the woman had completed her test and instead of coming into the office, just waits standing outside motioning for me to come to her and my baby millie. I walk out there and she goes, "Your car was fine except look at the reverse lights". Alright, well i looked at my brake lights, and my left one was shot, must have happened recently because i never noticed it. Since my brakelight was out, i failed. Now for my rant....
WHAT THE FUCK, i mean i can understand that you fail someone for the "massachusetts advanced emissions inspection" for maybe failing emissions or somethin major, but a broken brake light should not be an impetus to force someone to be failed, chance getting pulled over for it, and on top of all make them pay another 29 dollars to take the entire test again BECAUSE OF A BRAKE LIGHT. i mean what the fuck, will my car be pushing out 100% smog tomorrow? i highly doubt it, and this is what leads me to believe that this whole bullshit about "enhanced emissions" is a crock of steaming shit. im all for safety and saving the environment, but when you have to pay 29 for an inspection, fail on something relatively minor, and then have to pay another 29 for another inspection, it is bordering on ludicrous.......now im ready to throw dem bows :chair:
END RANT
