This is interesting. The guy got screwed on ebay by a Mitsu dealer, posted his story, and it got reposted on forums all over the world...the resulting outcry forced the dealer to back down and honor the deal. The original thread resulted in 115 PAGES of posts in about a week and a half.

Was that the outcome? I read the original few posts but didn't have the urge to read through it :D That would really piss me off. He got a hell of a deal on that Evo (like $26K) and I'd sure as hell make a big stink if they didn't sell it to me.

Hell yeah, thats if it was just stock, let alone decked out in leather with DVD and TV screens and all that stuff.

This one was decked out??? Wow...

Yeah, here are some interior pics of the car from the auction link. Not as grippy, but some extra dough was definately spent on this car.

Look at the headrests

One more...

Wow, that's completely not the type of car I would do that to (more weight = less speed) but that's still pretty cool.

Yeah I agree, you lose the grippiness of the cloth and add more weight with the TV's and such. But hey money spent is money spent, and this guy got a hell of a deal if this is what he wanted.

Makes you wonder, did the cushy leather and TV's lower the Evo's desirability in the eyes of people who would be bidding on it, the enthusiasts? :?:

Wouldn't surprise me. Although there will always be people who want it just because it's becoming popular, rather for the performance. For them, the TV's will add to the package I guess. I wouldn't bid on it :D

After stonewalling for about a week, referring everyone who called to their attorney, the dealership finally caved in, "cancelled the deal with the broker" and gave the car to the guy for the 26k.

I didn't read it all either, only about 10 pages, but it's amazing how quickly the story spread. It seems every second post was about "I just read this and added it to ****** forum - we have 3000 members who now know about it"

Yeah, it was on Glock Talk twice already, and obviously thats not even a car site.
