Traditionally the gtr has been turboed, but then again so was the z, so you never know...my guess would be a vq variant......

I surely wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. Not that it would be a bad thing, because the VQ is an awesome engine.:hitit:

A VQ with an extra cylinder per bank would make an awesome (not to mention huge) V8.

Or a turboed VQ.

the original z car was not turboed. but you are right, nissan seems to be moving away from their tradition, turbo; to initate honda, NA. :(

They've been shying away from turbos because they have an excellent, reliable naturally aspirated engine in the VQ. It simply doesn't need turbos. Although a turboed VQ would be a force to reckon with.

I've heard rumor of them using the 340hp 4.5 v8 out of the Q45. That would be pretty sweet in a G35 coupe!

Then again, it's all speculation either way.

if they can tune the V8 to 400hp that would be sweet.

If all things remained equal, a v8 vq would be something like 4.7 liters and in the same state of tune as the Z would put down around 390 horse n/a....Imagine a turbo v8 vq...*wets pants*

is that initial D in your avatar?

NA engines are easier to engineer?
