I duno what wrog with you car. You're question is so general. Try rephrasing your question to make it more specific. Add detail to whats wrong with it.

oh and by the way.
It's not always good to go on a internet forum community to ask one question and leave after that. Especially with a screen name like that. A lot of times people won't answer your question becuase u might be obly using us. So I hope u stay Here and become a regular member.

Please clarify the problem somewhat.

What year, engine, mileage, etc?

needhelponrx7
well my most important question is why does gas leak out where the spark plug is at, i think it's because too much gas is being inserted, if it is that, what can i do?

it's a 1984 rx-7 lots of mileage

One more question. Is it carbureted? Or fuel injected? If it's fuel injected, you could have an injector stuck open or something. But, that's just my guess.

FabUlous
last time i checked rex's NEVER ran carburetor

ahahn
Early RX-7s did have carbretors. I am not sure, but I think that 1984 was the last year for the carbureted engine.

rx-7 engines usually go to shit after a 100k miles or so anyways, so perhaps look into buying a junkyard engine for it. second, does it crank over? if you have compressed air available try cleaning off the spark plugs, spraying some compressed air into the spark plug hole to blow out the cyclinder (not sure what to call it on a rotary) and try again, if it doesnt even crank over it could be your battery, or starter. Maybe get some carb clean and spray out your idle circtuit or even your whole carb. Your float may possibly be bad so if you wanna try and buy a junkyard carb as well that may be worth the effort. Could be any number of things, try some of those and get back to us.

1984 started the fuel injection use.

Dammit i was close. Ah well, that was off the top my head. I didn't have to look it up, lexus. :bootyshak

:pd:

A-Tech
well if its fuel injected, try changing out your injectors with junkyard injectors =P or clean out the ones you have in there now, maybe it/they got gummed up and just need some cleanin!

I looked it up when doing a report a few months ago for my class.:finger: BTW, sorry to hijack your thread if youre staying Mr.

it's fuel injected, i have already bought new injectors and cleaned out the "cylinder". when i try to start it, it trys to start but it just can't, then a huge smell of gas fills the air, i think i need something called a pulsation damper, it's supposed to smooth out the fuel flow, i'm gonna go to the junkyard tomorrow and get one, hopefully that's it. oh yeah i also bought new spark plugs.

Are you sure it's just gas?

Because if it's oil the engine is generally fucked, and it'd make a hell of a lot more sense. Next time you try and crank the engine over, look at the smoke coming out of the tailpipe. If it has a blue tinge, say bye bye.

A-Tech
ummm, it doesnt start, no smokes really gonna come out, and i think he would be able to tell if it was oil, the spark plugs would be covered. smell the liquid on the plugs, if its more of a watery smell, you could have a coolant leak. it may very well be the dampner that is giving you an uneven flow, is it like a diaphram kinda thing?

Rotary Boy
sounds like you are about to go find another 12A, cause yours is fucked.

masestylez
Ouch, the stiff arm from reality just knocked the footy out of your hands.

Rotary Boy
sorry man, but like almost everyproblem with an Rx-7, you can pretty much bet the answer will be that you should have paid closer attention to your "replace motor"light on you dash
j/k of course, but it would be helpfull if they had just repalced half the idiot lights on that dash with replace motor. but don't feel bad, it probably wasn't your fault, hell the guy I bought my 7 from blew the apex seals just from hard cornering on a low tank of gas, leaned it out and boom she detonated and that motor was done. lucky for you a 12A(especially a easy to fix carbed one) can be found for very cheap and it isn't really that much of a hassle for anyone who has turned a few wrenches to put in the car.

sorry about your luck

needhelponrx7
the damper looks like a screw with a screw in it

needhelponrx7
so i just go to a junk yard and pull the engine out? and it's fuel injected, not carb

Rotary Boy
yeah, it's probably your best bet, you should be able to find a good one for a price that won't do to much damage to your wallet.

needhelponrx7
damn!!!!!!! my rx-7 :badass:
