View Thread: Saw my first Cayenne

Why do you always see something you really want to see in the OTHER lane. I got a quick glimpse of the new Porsche SUV on the way home from work today. First impression was actually very positive! It's pretty smooth looking for an SUV. Doesn't have the normal boxy shape that plagues SUVs. There was a middle aged lady driving it. I didn't get a good enough look to figure out which model it is. It was a dark blue color.

Yeah, I have a feeling that it will look better in person then in photos. There is a thread that was started at C&D about the Cayenne. However, a couple of us hijacked it and it never stood a chance.

badass SUV thread (http://forums.caranddriver.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=001959) :D

Heh heh, we hang out in little clusters, us Poschephiles. Hey BTW, how are you liking that snow? Talked to my buddy in Boulder this morning, he said they got 4 feet last night! Hope the 911 is staying in the garage.

mustangdriver
Sounds like ksaile is going to make it the AWF Turbo Porsche Hooligans soon :D

:drive:

ksaile
True that!:boobies:

I'm going to use this thread to upload my new signature. My FTP to my website(s) is F'd up at the moment so I'll use AWF :D

Ooh, nice! Although if I were you, I'd reduce the crest a bit and show more of that girl's hip.

Apple_Jacks

That looks perfect to my eye. Nice

Applejacks, this is a shot of my 944 after one nights snowfall when I lived in CO. I thought you might enjoy it.

I lived in Vail for a little while with that Celica. Fun but a little nerve racking with the wide tires on snowpacked I 70.

ha ha, yeah, theres a bunch of cool ones there. That second picture is of the Land Cruiser Prado available over seas. The new 4Runner is actually based off of it. Here it is equipped for glacier driving by Artic Cruisers, the same company that drove the 80 series Land Cruisers across Green Land and Antarctica. Impressive rigs.

Apple_Jacks
oh shit dude. we bought the car from a lady in vail. a 1985 gt?
ours is red but the previous owner made it primer black.

5spd?

nothing beats donuts in the middle of the xpressway BTW

This is my favorite shot. This is one of the rigs that was in that one TLC show called Extreme Machines. The bars in front fold out to prevent the truck from falling into crevasses.

Oh man... there are a few Cayennes at Howard Cooper, the local Porsche/VW/Honda/Audi dealer in town. There were two sitting out front - a shiny clean one with a trailer attached behind it. On the trailer was a nice little Porsche. I wouldn't mind driving that rig... :D

But the other was covered in what I would call dust. It looks like they tried to get it all muddy and tough looking, but it looks like they drove it down a dirt road for a few minutes. If mud was caked on, that'd be cool, but as it was, I left unimpressed.

Nice truck, anyway.

Today i also saw my first Cayenne and boy was it a beauty. It was in a darkish blue/purple and it looked georgeous. I was in a wealthier town 15 minutes away and saw it at the Porsche/Audi/VW dealer. I also happened to see the A4 Cabrio but i didnt like it too much. It was too square and didnt stand out too much.

I did some work to my truck over the weekend, this is now what its looking like

This is what happens when you live in a place with too long of a winter!

Cool, but I think you forgot the gaps in the roof for you and your passenger's heads.

ksaile
Nah, you just gotta laaaaay baaack!:pimp:

I saw a cayenne today. a trubo nontheless. my wife was like "what the hell is that" and I rolled down the window to congratulate the owner, and it was some lady who responded with "yeah whatever"

so I started blasting liam lynchs "my united states of whatever" and I followed her for like 10 minutes with that song repeating

I saw a bunch of 'em a few months ago returning from the desert. They were probably out there doing some sort of desert testing or something.

In Death Valley once, I saw a bunch of cars drive by in the coming lane with all that "test mule" disguisey black shit on them. Pretty neat.
