View Thread: Exhaust system

TURBOZ
okay, I'm ready to get an Exhaust system, AFTER i get my alarm, cause I just put a nice system in my car, and someone has been busting into the cars where I were work downtown, and jacking stereos, so after I get the alarm, I want an exhaust. what should I go with? Borla has a really nice one for my car, but DAYUM! the price! Not that much considering, but I've got to be cost conscious right now, till the wife find a job with her new found degree. So for now, we're just working with my salary. (thank you SBC!) haha. Any advice?:banghead:

Jackpot!

hehehe, this is my first view so I can't speak for the rest of these guys. I'd have to check it out, I don't really know who makes a good exhaust for that car. Borla isn't bad though, good sound in the cars I've heard them in (usually V8s though).

I'll look around...

anything mendrel bent stainless should do the trick, im not a huge huge fan of most of borla's stuff, drones too much at idle, if you want bang for the buck, check with a local exhuast place and see if they will do a custom job for ya, i paid 300 bucks for my exhuast (whole deal too) from a little indepednent shop, and u guys have heard the car

TURBOZ
saweet! I didn't even think of that! I know a guy that did the whole system on my Z28, I didn't even think to ask him! Thanks guys!

doesn't blitz make a Nur spec exhuast for your car and highflow downpipe for your car? check that out, I Have a Blitz exhaust system on the supra, sounds good, looks nice and is pretty light too. the sound is pretty docile untill 6K RPMS when it is alittle loud, but it's nothing you couldn't live with.

But a local shop usually doesn't have mandrel benders...so I'm not sure if you'd want that type of "custom" job.

lucky me huh? :bootyshak

Ya, I'm gonna have to check out Blitz. I want something light, cause the damn things heavy enough. hehe. Maybe some nice racing seats for the front, and GT pro has a sweet carbon fiber viper hood for my ride. That will save some weight!

Ya, but what was the deal with your tailpipes? Pure aluminum with no tips? They're small too, but I'm sure they designed that right.

dont u remember the "try to keep it as stock looking as possible" post i amde about this car long long ago...first off i dont think the mufflers hurt the sound and or performace any, and to the naked eye the car looks like a stock n/a Z32 (since the TT's had a rear deck wing, which i chose not to include in the conversion) so even someone who knows his Z's will get cuaght by surprise, and its not likt i really needed to do anything to make the car look nice...concider it...my anti-rice if you will (plus those oem stlye mufflers were dirt cheap and in stock  )
