For some reason, i'm looking to learn as much about this HOnda engine as possible. I know very little about it.
Can anyone here tell me more about the pros and cons of the H22?

torque, power delivery, smoothness, potential, fortitude, weight.

it kicks ass. to bad there was never a RWD car using this engine, becuase the motor kicks alot of ass, it has excellent top end grunt and it has more torque than most other honda engines.

i considered swapping one into my accord a while back. I may still do it if my current engine ever dies, :D

RB hit the high notes. I used to have some great sections on hondaprelude.com bookmarked but unfortunately the site is no longer.

I've mostly been into the H22A because that's what I have Here is some good specs (http://www.h22a.com/specs.html). I've been a big fan of this engine. The low end in particular is pretty impressive for a Honda. I have had others drive it and they were surprised at the low end pull. VTEC comes in at 5500 rpms and it's pretty impressive. I think there was a H22B (maybe in the 4th Generation Prelude), but I don't have the specs handy.

Great engine. It's used in a LOT of engine swaps (in fact that's all I could freakin find when I searched google). I'm surprised it's not used more than the GSR engine because it's got significantly more power (200 vs 170).

That would be pretty sweet in an older Accord. Good power, pretty low weight. Nice!

My buddy has a 2000 Accord Coupe with the 200hp V6 in it and I'm not sure if I can attribute this to the H22 engine or not, but I blow his doors off every time.

Could be the lower weight or the fact that I have a manual. I raced a guy this summer from a stoplight on a really open road that had a modded V6 Accord (basic upgrades i/h/e) and killed him. We both were going to the same place (Summit Point raceway for an import event) and he started asking me what I had done to it to beat him so badly. I was like ummm nothing...

definitely the manual, the accord 4spds are :ghey:

and my accord weighs 2850, so 200hp would definitely be nice. I'd probably have to replace teh tranny, but at around 200K miles, that'll probably be necessary anyway. :D
