View Thread: Dodge Unleashes 150 MPH Viper-Powered 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10

kak
If it's worth doing, it's sometimes worth overdoing. So only Dodge could create the boldest, baddest and fastest full-size pickup ever, the Viper-powered 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10. Taking its rightful place as the ultimate performance pickup, the 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 brings a massive dose of Viper power to the performance pickup segment, with a class-demolishing 500 horsepower and 525 lb.-ft. of torque. Topping 150 mph in maximum speed and reaching 60 mph in approximately five seconds, Dodge has recalibrated all expectations for truck performance.

u know what dodge really needs. a luxury car in the mid to high $30s range with a good engine and lots of hp with lb ft and also very comfortable at the same time.

masestylez
I read about that awhile ago, I heard it was going to be $50k but that could of been speculation. How do you get press accreditation?

kak
Apply for them! :) And it helps when I refer to news.kak.net and car.kak.net! :)

masestylez
Would you have to apply at each seperate car company or is there a cnetral organization that hands them out? And yes, I go to both of those sites on a good basis :P.

Americans have serious problems with that. Anyone can make a go-kart handling car or a big, comfy grand tourer. But only the Europeans and the Japanese to a lesser extent can make a go-kart handler comfortable (BMW anyone?) and a GT car handle extremely well (Porsche 911, Mercedes).

The car would be outclassed.

masestylez
Why don't american car makers make better handling bigger cars?

masestylez
Hey kak, referring to your website at the Spokane International Auto Show today got me free stuff. :D If they think your with the press they treat you really nice. "Would you like to test drive the new Z4 today sir?"

AngelicOUTLAW
That's a very cool truck!

Rotary Boy
damn!, that is so much faster than my truck, and I thought mine was the shit too. just when you think you got shit under control and somebody shows up and messing things up.

BTW how fast are most trucks nowadays? is 6 seconds to 60 fast anymore or is that the standard for a basic quick truck?

I would consider that a VERY quick truck honestly. There aren't many supertrucks out there honestly. The SVT comes to mind, great truck. But most of them are at such an ungodly weight that 300hp+ really doesn't make them all that fast.

Sia Bani
I think of it this way. For a truck, 7 seconds is quick. 6 is really fast, and 5 is just insane.

lexus1581
im sry but y do people spend so much money to make trucks fast

masestylez
It's just to prove to Ford and Chevy that they can out-badass them

lexus1581
yea thats a good way of putting it but id still rather buy an mb or corvette for that money

Rotary Boy
oh, my truck isn't meant for going fast, and I have to abuse it to make it run that quick, but it could if I needed it too. very different in principle than those ultra super highpowered trucks(the lightning and the SRT-10 ram and whatnot). besides my truck is automatically cooler than the others cause it has stacks
....stacks are still badass right?

lexus1581
sure y not what truck do u have?

jaguarz160
who wouldnt want to have that dodge?

lexus1581
id rather have a fast car like i said before anyday over a vipered up truck

Rotary Boy
I have an '82 J10 pickup with a grand cherrokee overland limited motor in it. its lifted and pretty decently suited for offroading while still being able to serve as a tuff as nails farm truck for my other house in utah.

lexus1581
did u buy it new? i own a honda accord (love it)

Rotary Boy
no I bought it from a guy I met on jeep jamboree a few years ago. he had the truck from when it was new, but the engine that was origonally in it(a 360 carbed V8) died and he replaced it with a 5.9 V8 engine that was offered for one year in the overland limited. it's a 5 speed and it is suprisingly quick. lots of torque.

lexus1581
it sounds pretty quick with the overland limited engine also i like the lift kit

lexus1581
do u have pics of it

ahahn
Rotary Boy,

Do you have any pics of this truck that you can post?

lexus1581
im out ttyl its 12 30 and ill see ur pics when i wake up rb

mrgokou
